I learned how to break free from sugar addiction and I’m here to help you do it, too! You want to lose the extra pounds you’ve been struggling with for far too long. You dream of feeling fit, confident, and filled with energy, but in reality, you feel:

● FRUSTRATED – You’ve tried countless diets and nothing works. Every diet leaves you feeling hungry, deprived, and cranky, and if you “cheat”, you feel guilty and angry with yourself.
● DOWN – You want to feel body positive, but deep down, you hate how you look. Your clothes don’t fit right, you dread occasions where you have to dress up, and some days, you just wonder how you let yourself go.
You are not alone in feeling this way, but there IS hope! I know this because I’ve been EXACTLY where you are right now. I too have had my struggles after having my thyroid removed. I tried so many things and like you, nothing seemed to work or last very long. At my wits end, I took a close look at my life and diet. and realized that much of my diet consisted of sugar and flour. A bit of research clued me in that sugar is not only HIGHLY addictive (worse than smoking, even!), it’s also incredibly toxic! It plays a major role in obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, triggers chronic inflammation and damages the immune system. That’s just the START of what sugar does. As a nurse working 12 to 13-hour shifts three (and sometimes four) days in a row, I was grabbing anything that I could get my hands on to eat. After all, lunch for acute care nurses is a short 30-minute break and sometimes that is interrupted by an emergency on the unit.
The Journey to Healing
So, of course, my first step was to eliminate sugar. Easy, right? Except sugar is in EVERYTHING. Yogurt, salad dressing, spaghetti sauce, bread…pretty much all processed foods. My research led me to realize that regaining control and establishing healthy eating habits was the solution I was looking for. I didn’t have to diet or count one single calorie. I simply chose to nourish my body with foods that included lean proteins, whole grains, fruits, and vegetables! If it was natural and whole, it stayed in my pantry or fridge, if not, out it went. I started bringing my own lunch to work, packing it with healthy foods and snacks. What a difference this made! I dropped 40 pounds in just three months – without counting a single calorie or feeling hungry! After 6 months, I had lost a total of 55 pounds! Five years later, I have kept it off with ease – all from simply changing my eating habits! I eat regular whole foods in the right proportion that keeps me focused, feeling good about myself, and losing pounds. I don’t feel deprived of good foods and I have an abundance of ENERGY!
A New Found Purpose…
My experience changed my life in wonderful ways, and now, I’m on a path to help others! I want to help you reclaim your life and lose weight for good simply by breaking free from sugar addiction and establishing Healthy Habits!
In order to best help others, I enrolled in the National Society of Health Coaches (NSHC) Health Coach Program so I could learn as much as I could about evidence-based coaching as it relates to nutrition. This program is strictly for individuals who hold a clinical healthcare license/credential such as a Registered Nurse. According to NSHC’s website at https://nshcoa.com, their program provides the “nuts and bolts” of Evidence-based Health Coaching (EBHC)® with Motivational Interviewing (MI). My 19-year clinical nursing background affords me a wealth of evidence-based practice and knowledge of the science behind how our bodies work. Now, as a Certified Health Coach, I have the passion, experience, and knowledge to help you achieve your health goals and lose weight for good!
In addition to bringing you comprehensive health, wellness, and nutritional information as well as resources based on science and medically proven research, I also have the personal experience to guide you and support you as you work to reach your health goals and reclaim your life!
